Summer Solstice on Monhegan
at Monhegan House - June 19 - 22, 2026

Project Focus
Pulse Warmers
Even in warmer months, Maine still has a wild range in temperatures. Knitted pulse warmers are a great little accessory to have on hand (ha!) — no thumbs, just meant to add a touch of warmth to your wrists. Knit with DK-weight yarn, participants will choose from two patterns, here and here. Participants are invited to bring other projects, especially ones good for relaxed, social knitting time.

Description:
Monhegan Island in June is a magical time to visit, especially if you enjoy the scent of beach roses as you stroll through town. (Read the recap of our June 2025 retreat to Monhegan here.)
gather2knit will be spending three nights on Monhegan this year and this retreat will be centered around enjoying the bountiful natural beauty of Monhegan — slowing down to the pace of island life, and exploring the trails and paths suitable for a variety of levels of challenge. In the mornings, you might enjoy your coffee on the front porch with your knitting in your lap, and in the evenings, we’ll gather to knit in the parlor at Monhegan House. If it's warm after a day of hiking, you might even take a dip at Seaglass Beach! On our final night, our hosts at Monhegan House have an annual Solstice Barbecue to benefit the Friends of Monhegan Volunteer Fire Department. This is a great cause and an awesome time — with live music and a scavenger hunt to "find" dessert!
Though just twelve miles from the village of Port Clyde, Monhegan Island feels a world away from the hustle-bustle of regular life. It’s a destination for nature-lovers, bird-watchers, hikers, and artists. There’s a tiny village with a few shops, art galleries, a Museum, a couple of unpaved roads, and the only vehicles are island trucks and golf carts — foot traffic only. Most of the land on Monhegan is owned by a private non-profit, essentially a land trust that maintains the nine miles of hiking trails that lead to the highest ocean cliffs on Maine’s coast.
About Monhegan House:
Monhegan House has bright, comfortable rooms with beautiful views of the ocean, lighthouse and meadow, or both. Rooms are appointed with period furniture and plush, comfortable bedding. This is a food-focused inn, described as “Michelin rustic” with meals prepared with fresh and local ingredients, 95% of which is prepared from scratch. Included with your room are baked goods and coffee for the early risers, followed by a 3-course breakfast. We’ll be dining at MOHO for dinners as well.
Most of the rooms at Monhegan House have shared (but private) baths, and some rooms will have access to bathroom facilities on the floor below. The upstairs rooms are accessible by stairs only.
Lodging, Costs, and Intention Form:
The Monhegan Island Adventure is limited to 10 retreat participants.
We have reserved a block of rooms that include a range of pricing/space options — from $136 to $247 per night, plus a gather2knit fee. Participants will be responsible for their own ferry and parking tickets.

Knit Camp in Maine's North Woods
Knit Camp at Medawisla Lodge - August 12 - 15, 2026

Description:
Pack your bags for Knit Camp at the AMC's Medawisla Lodge, nestled in the beautiful North Woods of Maine. The peace of this place is enhanced by a complete lack of digital connectivity without cell service or Wifi. This means we’ll have more time to focus on our knitting, enjoy the pristine wilderness and each other’s company, and (hopefully) witnessing the peak of the Perseid Meteor showers. Medawisla is a certified Dark Sky Park — the first in New England — and offers excellent stargazing on clear nights. Access to Medawisla is via gravel logging roads (approximately 45 minutes from Greenville), as it is nestled deep in the 100-Mile Wilderness.
We'll enjoy quiet mornings on the lake in a kayak or canoe, a cooling afternoon swim, time to hike, walk, or bike, and of course plenty of time to knit and hang out. You might even catch a lecture or nature walk with an AMC naturalist up at the Lodge. You're encouraged to bring whatever current WIP you have that's suitable for social knitting time.
This retreat is designed for active knitters who love the Maine outdoors in summer.
Focus: Swatch Journaling
Get ready for a totally different way of thinking about the purpose of a swatch! A swatch can be a tactile playground, a tiny landscape to explore your emotions, a place to unspool your mind, and a means to experience the craft anew. Knitting a swatch can be process-focused, instead of product-focused, and it doesn't have to be something you dread! (Note: We will not be swatching with a project in mind.)

About Medawisla Lodge:
Built on AMC conservation land and part of AMC’s Maine Wilderness Lodge network, Medawisla Lodge beautifully combines remote, modern rustic charm with the convenience of healthy, hearty, homemade meals served family style in the Lodge, and cozy, clean accommodations. The Lodge provides access to comfortable sitting areas around a beautiful stone fireplace, with ample natural light from windows which line the walls. The dining room area provides tables and chairs around which to gather and enjoy the view.
The chefs at Medawisla are well accustomed to accommodating special dietary needs. Coffee and tea are available for early risers, and in the lodge throughout the day.
Breakfasts and dinners are served family style and a trail lunch is provided for each camper, beginning on the first full day of our stay. Any dietary restrictions and food allergies for participants will be shared with Medawisla, prior to our arrival.
Lodging, Costs, and Intention Form:
gather2knit has reserved four cabins in the Meadow, close to the water access and dock, and just a few minutes walk to the Lodge. Each cabin has a shared bedroom and a private bedroom, a living area with futon and wood stove, and small kitchenette. Note that the bathrooms and showers are nearby, in a separate building. There are also bath facilities located in the Lodge.
Knit Camp at Medawisla is limited to 11 retreat participants. The total cost per participant is $760 - $1072 and includes three nights of lodging, all meals from Wednesday dinner to a Saturday trail lunch, access to Medawisla’s canoes and SUPs, and your gather2knit fee.

Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival Northeast Kingdom
October 1 - 4, 2026

Description:
The Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival is an absolutely charming, celebration of fiber craft and fiber animals, for fiber enthusiasts! It's also the first of the "circuit" of fall fiber festivals, so all of the vendors are fully stocked.
The festival is hosted at the Tunbridge World Fairgrounds which has a classic New England fair feeling (think Charlotte's Web!) with a Maple store right on site so you can indulge in maple creamees, syrup, and candies! There are food vendors on site, workshops, demonstrations, not to mention scores of attendees modeling their handmade woolly wear!
We'll gather on Thursday evening at Bee Haven in Cabot, VT — our homebase for the weekend. On Friday morning there will be an optional buttonhole workshop, then an afternoon spent relaxing or exploring the local area (hopefully a fiber mill tour!). On Saturday, we'll take a scenic drive to the festival and then spend the day (ticket included). On Sunday, we'll part ways after breakfast — with an option to head back to the festival for a second day, if you like.

Lodging, Food, Costs, and Intention Form:
Our home base for the weekend will be Bee Haven Farm, approximately one hour from the Festival. Attendees will have the option to stay at Bee Haven Farm or at the nearby Marshfield Inn, which is a 15-minute drive from Bee Haven. Every effort will be made to match you with a first or second choice in accommodations.
Meals will be shared at the farm, prepared for us by a private chef.
The Vermont Sheep and Wool Weekend is limited to 8 participants.
Cost for the weekend ranges from $755 - $1029, plus a gather2knit fee.

the g2k Registration Process
gather2knit retreats and fiber adventures are purposefully small and intimate.
Options for accommodations vary with each trip so you can choose a room that fits your budget.
With limited spaces for participants, and the specifics of each venue’s accommodations, we will be balancing your room request with the rooms that are available. This means requests may exceed availability and you’ll have the option to join the waitlist.
If you would like to join us for a gather2knit multi-day experience…
-
Fill out an intention form to let us know some important information about you, and your requests / priorities for your room.
-
We review all intention forms and will notify you of space availability. Due to limited space, you’ll have the option to join the waitlist, if needed.
-
Once your space is confirmed, you’ll receive registration forms by email, including information about how to submit your deposit and deadline for final payment. Registration will not be considered final until your deposit is received.
-
After we receive your deposit, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your room assignment, a detailed packing list, the general flow of activities, and a brief questionnaire.
