gather2knit was founded in 2025 by Iris Eichenlaub — with co-creation by Isla Salisbury.

 

Isla has returned to her home out West, where she's hopefully scouting potential sites for future knitting retreats in addition to enjoying this gorgeous location! Isla's support, collaboration, and co-facilitation were instrumental forces of positivity during g2k's launch year.​

Knitting, nature, and community have always been forces of good in Iris's life. She's been a K-12 school librarian, taught knitting to folks ages 7-75, and has a background in outdoor leadership. Currently Iris works at Cashmere Goat (the best yarn store in Maine!), coordinating knit alongs, maintaining the in-person and virtual community, teaching, and creating marketing content.
