gather2knit was founded in 2025 by Iris Eichenlaub — co-created with Isla Salisbury. ​ ​
 

Knitting, nature, and community have always been forces of good in Iris's life. She's been a K-12 school librarian, taught knitting to folks ages 7-75, and has a background in outdoor leadership. Iris worked for four years at Cashmere Goat (located in midcoast Maine!), coordinating knit alongs, maintaining the in-person and virtual community, teaching, and creating marketing content.

Isla has returned to her home out West, where she's scouting potential sites for future knitting retreats, in addition to enjoying Washington state! Isla's support, collaboration, and co-facilitation were instrumental forces of positivity during g2k's launch year.
